HISTORY OF HORROR
A timeline of a brief history of horror movies, specifically those centered around Hell and Hell adjacent topics (i.e. demons, possession, underworld, etc.), from their inception to modern day films.

Goals
Horror is an underrated film genre, and is often overlooked by the public and the Academy. Only two horror films have ever won best picture (Silence of the Lambs and Parasite). As my personal favorite genre, and a genre that is under explored, I wanted a timeline to show a variety of horror movies from across decades, so that those who are already interested in horror or are just getting started can better appreciate horror as a whole.
personas
First, to address my personas’ needs, I made my website visually appealing to both older and younger audiences. Vintage visuals are very trendy among younger users, so Julia will find the website visually appealing, while Alex would have grown up with VCR tapes and might enjoy the nostalgia. To help Julie with finding locations to watch movies, every movie on the timeline is linked with an outside website to stream it from. As well, to learn more about the creation process and history a “Scream More” button links out to more information about the movie and the creation of it. This could also help Alex learn about how a horror film is written. To help Alex find which movies to watch, a brief description of each movie is given, so that she can find what works best for him and his daughter’s tastes.
